Hi All!
I was recently chosen as the next recipient of the Pattern Pyramid started by Ann of Pretty Grievances, inspired by the one started by Karen of Did You Make That? The previous custodian was Anne of Tulle and Tweed, and she sent it all the way from Glasgow, Scotland to the west coast of Canada! ^__^
Here is the one I chose to keep:
It’s similar to Cake’s Tiramisu pattern, which I have, but the skirt is cut on the bias, and there is no separate midriff piece; instead there is a tie belt, which is a nice touch. I was a bit concerned there wasn’t enough separation between the two patterns for me to justify keeping this one, but alas, the others are all either the wrong style for me, the wrong size, or I already have it ^__^
I will likely make this a bit shorter as well, since I prefer above the knee to calf length
Here is the pattern I am replacing it with:
Here are the rest of the Pattern Pyramid patterns up for grabs:
I can personally recommend the Cynthia Rowley pattern, as that’s the one I made my Starsky Dress from
Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be entered for the draw to become the next link in the Pattern Pyramid chain! I will be doing the draw on Tuesday, January 22nd: one week from today
Good luck! ^__^

Yippee Skippy! You are no longer on the black list!!! That is some bra pattern…good luck to the gals who get in on this one!
I know right! I’d love to make it if I could ^_^
Okay, add me to the list, I still want that vintage Butterick. At least if I win it won’t have to go far.
You’re in!! ^_^
great selection you made! i see a couple of winners in the remaining patterns, so please enter me, too
You’re in, too!
Congrats on your win! I’d love to be entered…
Thanks! You’re in! ^_^
That pattern you picked is nice! There are still some good ones left in the pack – please count me in (if I’m not too far). Thank you!
Absolutely! You’re in, Jenny!
Please count me in too – these pyramid’s have really taken off. What a fun way to meet the sewing community!
It’s such a great idea, isn’t it?
You’re in, Liz!!
Glad the pyramid made it, eventually. – nice swap
Me too! It had a long journey! lol
I am so glad you won! The pattern you picked looks very promising – I would love to see you sew it up. If I won I would consider giving that Kwik Sew pattern a try – I would have to fiddle with the sizing a bit though. The Cynthia Rowley dress is another great contender.
Don’t we always have to fiddle with the sizing? lol – I know I do, anyway ^_^
You’re in!
Hi there Symondezyn, Congrats on getting the patterns. I would like to enter the Pattern Pyramid as well. I entered when it was in Tulle and Tweed’s hands, but didn’t make it (obviously, lol). It’s hard to see the sizing on those patterns from the pic. Are they in a small size?
Hi Gjeometry!!
I’ve entered you into the draw!
The patterns are all different sizes; was there a particular one you were eyeballing? ^_^
Great, Thanks! And, yes, was squinting to see the Cynthia Rowley, the Butterick 5178 and the very easy very vogue dress (WITHOUT the shoulder pads, oh my!!)
Ok!
The Cynthia Rowley is sz. 14-22; the VEVV dress is 8-10-12 and the Butterick is size 16 (bust 38)
Ok, thanks. Seems like they are bigger sizes. I am not experienced at grading, quite yet. But the VEVV looks to be a smaller size. Sometimes, the sizes of patterns confuse me so much! One pattern’s size 2 is another pattern’s size 10. Even after converting european or UK sizing to US. Sheeeze, get together and agree on a system, pattern people!
I know eh? The big 4 modern pattern sizes are pretty standard to each other, but they differ from vintage sizes, as well as RTW and independent patterns.
The multi-sized ones should be pretty easy to grade, even if you need a size outside of what’s provided, cause at least you can see where on the pattern the sizes differ, and by how much

I love that Vogue and have it in my list to make too. Gorgeous. Please do do do post if you make it! I’ve some lovely lovely dark charcoal silk knit which I’m going to be brave cutting into.
I’ve just got it traced today! I’m doing some major alterations to it though so we shall see how that goes, but I’ll definitely post my results regardless!
I’m doing mine in a charcoal jersey too! Mine’s not silk though – lucky you!!
I bought the silk about 2 years ago and then chickened out! It has the most gorgeous feel and, being jersey, hopefully won’t be too tricksy to make. Oh and it was on sale! Seriously on sale …
I’ve found jersey most pleasant to work with so far; I’m sure yours will be just lovely… I can only imagine how dreamy it will be to wear! ^_^
PS please don’t put me in for the patterns cos I have enough already! Tempting but I’m being strong.
