Yes, I’ve been a real slowpoke this past week, and definitely feel like I’m on pause
The main reason is that it’s been a week on this diet, and while so far I’m doing really good, the first few days were really tough; I suffered from some pretty crappy detox symptoms, which apparently is normal when you cut starches and sugars out of your diet.
As a result I’ve been incredibly unproductive the past week, and barely got anything done.
The other problem is that now that I can see this program is probably going to work for me, I don’t see the point in continuing to make stuff that won’t fit me in a month or two. I’d rather wait and save my time, energy and pretty fabrics for when I can actually keep and wear them longer
I have been working on a cardigan, however, cause I had it started and I figured it’s ok if a cardi is a bit big
I just haven’t made much progress, because of the aforementioned lack of energy from detoxing.
Now that that’s over though, I have more energy and am feeling great! I suspect I’ll have something to post maybe by the end of this week – next week at the latest
Cheers all! ^_^

Ahh, bloody detoxes! I’m in the throes of that myself, but haven’t been nearly as successful as you seem to be with yours so far. Just can’t seem to find the willpower lately, so I’m just gonna blame report cards
Can’t wait to see your cardi!
Thanks Lara
Yes, it definitely took every ounce of my iron willpower & more to get through that first week! It’s still hard but getting a little easier each day
You can do it – just don’t give up on yourself; you’re worth the effort
Take care of yourself. If you feel like you are coming down with a cold or flu, you should stop the detox right away, as your body needs to build up at this point, and not break down.
Thanks Catja
I’m much better now – it was just from removing starches/sugars from my diet that caused detox-like symptoms… once it was out of my body I felt fine
I don’t have a gluten sensitivity or anything but it’s shocking how much those foods affect your system!
You always have to take care of yourself first. Sewing should be fun – not an obligation! Once the detox symptoms subside and you feel like creating something you could always focus on easy knits that will work now and later!
Thanks Sallie – exactly!
The cardi is in a nice red ponte so I figured it’ll be good now and later too
Yay to knitting I say! Actually is it a knitted or sewn cadi?
Keep on keeping on and stay healthy.
Oh, it’s sewn
I haven’t delved into the world of knitting yet
And it is another world, I tell you.
Hope you are feeling better. I do detoxes once in awhile and I remember getting a killer headache after first cutting out the sweets. What is weird is that after awhile, you get used to not eating much sugar and then when you do binge on sugar you feel physically terrible afterward (a little bit is OK, several slices of cake and scoops of ice cream is not). Helps me keep on track and actually avoid much sugar because I will get a headache afterward.
Thanks Javie
I am feeling better now
Actually I never really had a sweet tooth, apart from once a month where I would allow myself a bit of chocolate
For me it’s actually more the starch that’s hard to kick – and what I assume I mostly had to detox from
